It sounds like you are on the right track. Signage, relationship building, and planting "undesirable plants" are your best bets. Some things are just too tempting. The people stealing are just one more "pest" like a rabbit or…

I can come Friday or Saturday evening. Which would you prefer? and what time? Looking forward to seeing it. I'm an old community garden gal, myself. :)

I can meet you later in the day on Friday -- or I plan to be there around 5:30 today (unless it rains). Do you think they would be ok in the shed until others pick up? Rebecca

Its looking like we won't be able to make it to the garden until Saturday evening. If tomorrow works best for you, you probably can just drop off the plants by the potting shed if no one is available. Of course, we'd love to give you a…

Yea! I'm glad you are interested. My son has a soccer tournament this weekend, which I don't know the schedule for yet and he has a game tonight in Ames. Would anyone be around on Friday morning, later in the day or evening that I could…

I would be interested in some of the flowers and a tomatoe. I will be at the garden late Sat. afternoon or Sunday afternoon. Thanks. Rebecca Behrens 491-6492

I will be happy to take some of those plants. I'm thinking that some of the cabbages and many of your flowers would be really nice to have for both my plot and some of the common areas of the garden as well. I know I will be at the garden…

Thank-you for offering your plants. I remember that you had absolutely beautiful plants at the farmer's market. Some of the best looking at the market! My spinach just bolted, so I have room for some more plants and would love to take you up on…

free plants

I have a small urban CSA called The Little Red Hen and I grew plants for sale at the downtown market this year. I have lots of nice plants left if anyone wants some. I have heirloom tomatoes, hot peppers, red and green cabbages, and some annual flowers like calendula, celosia, China asters, and ageratum. Let me know if there is any interest and I can bring them by sometime when someone will be there.
