Hi Drew. Do you know when the City plans to refill the water tank? I was down there at lunch today to water my plants, but the tank was empty. I have about a dozen new plants at home, and was planning to plant them tonight... Also, there are boxes…

Hi Helen, Yeah don't worry about it, there are quite a few people, including myself, who haven't planted stuff in our garden plot yet. There are no weeds sprouting up yet so it is not so bad at the moment.

Due to a previous commitment tomorrow night, I might be able to stop by for a short while, but won't be able to stay long. I'm wondering how we will know which # plot we have been given, and how to locate it? Thank you.

The city doesn't provide tools but we should be getting several tool donations from other people that will stay in our shed and be accessible for everyone with a plot.

Hi Helen!

I got your message :)

Actually most of us will be new to community gardening but we are fortunate to have some folks who've participated in community gardens in the past :)

At the moment lots of decisions / rules / etc are still being kicked around...

As for this website - its just here for a resource and its up to the members for how much they want to use it. All the same information and resources should be able for everyone but having this website gives people the opportunity to share/add/edit/access current info anytime they sign in...

As for getting a plot - we currently have 8 people in the "plot holders 2009" group... I know there are others who want plots and probably don't even know about this site yet so obviously it's going to be tricky when we start getting closer to 29...

We have left room for expansion and additional plots so I think its safe to say that we should be covered for this year...

You can check the events calendar and "check in" for the garden construction / planting kickoff day on April 30th... details are on the events page :)

Lots of your questions can be addressed on the 30th but I'll try to send out some info on the shared tools question before that day comes !

Feel free to ask any questions like the ones you asked ---

" Are there any communal work requirements of me, other than working my plot? Peter Shirinian told me that the city will even supply me with gardening tools...How will that work? "

by starting a forum discussion - that way everyone has a chance to voice their thoughts and not just me :)

I hope I haven't overwhelmed you in this response ! It was more than I thought I'd be writing :)

Talk to you soon!
