GET THE UPDATE for TOMORROW !

HEY HEY HEY - SATURDAY's the day! 

The Garden is open and READY for planting !

 

Here are some things you might want to consider bringing with you !

1. wheelbarrow and a bucket ( we don't have our full time water access YET but the city IS bringing a 500 gallon tank filled with water for us to use...

2. extra mulch for your pathways ( we have some but not enough ... )

4. a few friends with a strong back :)

3. a few of your plants ! ( but keep in mind the water might be scarce )

4. a small snack ?

 

oh and sunblock ? - - Well surely Emily will have that...

PS - Anyone have a skid-loader ? or a friend with a skid loader ???  

We could use it for one last touch up of earth work that we couldn't get finished today...

CANDY'S ROLE : CITY LIAISON

Candy is a long time community gardener (5+ years!) and she has 4 children who love to garden with her...

 

As community garden coordinator, Candy will -

  • Conduct the plot distribution at all City of Des Moines Community Gardens & manage that messy paperwork.
  • Communicate with Gardeners about their plot & enforce the rules if needed.
