We want the potting shed that is at Habitat for Humanit's "Re Store"...

it is a 2,000 dollar item but I think we can raise some money, ask for a huge discount and make some magic happen !

I spoke with Shannon Ramsay from TREE's FOREVER on Friday -

Shannon is hopeful that the TREE'S FOREVER organization will be able to fund the purchase of two fruit tree's for the orchard area ! She is also hoping to attended the garden construction kickoff - as she is in town for another event that day...

Let's make sure that - at minimum - we write individual thank you notes to those who donate materials and dollars...

I will draft a thank you card that anyone from the group can use if they like!

The bricks are still estimated to come in early May based off of the contractor's schedule for tearing up Allen Street. Eric Iverson from RDG is part of that project and is keeping in contact with the contractor relating to this.

So I just received a donation of an assortment of garden tools that we can use for the garden. I have already put them in the tool shed but from what I remember the tools were:
4-5 garden hoses of various sizes, 3 heavy duty metal garden rakes, 3 spades, 1 regular shovel, 2 hoes (different size), 1 or 2 hand trowels, 2 hand weeding forks, 2 sprayer attachements for the end of the hoses, and 1 plastic watering can.

Also, I saw the inside of the shed today and there are some nice built-in shelves in there that would be great for storing small tools and materials. In the future we might want to build in some device for hanging up the hoses so that they don't just sit on the ground in a pile.

I hope to be getting some hand tools that people can use for the garden from a friend this weekend. I'll keep you updated on what I actually acquire.
