We ought to think about ways for our garden to be using this service or do a better job sharing produce...

We have a lot of food going to waste because it's not being harvested soon enough or tended to very well.

THE CONECTIONS CAFE AT 701 GRAND DOWNTOWN ,AT THE BOTTOM OF THE YWCA ,WILL TAKE ANY PRODUCE WE WANT TO GIVE THEM. THEY SERVE HOMELESS AND IN NEED PERSONS.
i ALSO AGREE WE SHOULD CALL ALL THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE PLOTS THAT SEEM TO HAVE GONE MISSING AND ASK
THEM IF THEY STILL WANT THE USE OF THERE PLOT OR IF THEY WANT TO GIVE IT UP.

I second this - we need to schedule a group event this weekend - Look for info on that in the coming day or two.

In regards to the connections cafe - do we think they would be willing to send a few volunteers to come harvest the extra food and or pull some weeds ?

CANDY'S ROLE : CITY LIAISON

Candy is a long time community gardener (5+ years!) and she has 4 children who love to garden with her...

  • Conduct the plot distribution at all City of Des Moines Community Gardens & manage that messy paperwork.
