Downtown Community Garden - Des Moines Iowa

Growing Together @ the corner of E 6th and Scott Street.

I've noticed a couple of plots at the garden that appear to still be completely untouched.  Has anyone tried to contact these plot holders?  If they aren't interested in using their plot, we ought to give someone on the waiting list an opportunity to get started before we get too late into the season.

Thanks Christine!
Perhaps to be nice, after we remind them we should give them to the first or second week of june to get the job done. If they dont then they should know in advance that they will loss that plot at the end of that date.
It's too bad the weeds growing on untouched plots won't wait until after June 1st to start dropping their seeds (which blow onto other plots).
Elizabeth Quinlan (she just called me) and I (Abra) want ours...I just got done with my first semester of grad school and will be planting soon. I was going to plant right after mothers day, but I thought I had the triangle plot from last year but it looks like someone is working on it...not sure which one is mine now.
I am one of the people who has not done anything to my plot yet. I would like to have until the weekend, however, to get mine going. If someone would/could reply to this, I'd appreciate it. Thanks so much.

Whats the scoop on yet untouch plots Christine?
Can we get another status update :)

I think we counted about 4 or 5 the other evening
when we were out there - do you need any help
getting a hold of people?
Does that mean the untouched plots have been planted or reassigned?
we are working to reasign from the waiting list.

You will have to ask Christine about these plots. She is the person who is in the know about them.
Stacia did you hear anything from Christine? I would be interested in knowing the answere to your question as will. I think all of us who are concerned about the garden would like to know. As would other potential new garden members who suposedly are on a waiting list, and would like to get involved asap before its to late to plant fall crops.
