"Food Inc." Film Screening and Panel Discussion
Thursday at 6pm
Sideshow Lounge

“Food Inc.” film screening 6 PM – 7:30 PM, followed by a panel discussion from 7:30 – 8:30.

Panelists are:

-George Naylor – former president of the National Family Farm Coalition and featured in the book
“Omnivore’s Dilemma” and the documentary “Fresh.”

-Barb Kalbach – former president of Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement

-Dave Murphy – founder and director for Food Democracy Now!

-Moderated by Matt Ohloff, Iowa Organizer for Food & Water Watch

CANDY'S ROLE : CITY LIAISON

Candy is a long time community gardener (5+ years!) and she has 4 children who love to garden with her...

 

As community garden coordinator, Candy will -

  • Conduct the plot distribution at all City of Des Moines Community Gardens & manage that messy paperwork.
  • Communicate with Gardeners about their plot & enforce the rules if needed.
